Chapter 185 Embers of Affection
Chapter 185 Embers of Affection
As time swiftly passed, the dark night gradually surrendered to the morning sun, its brilliance still veiled on the horizon.
On the bed, Long Tian opened his eyes, greeted by the lingering warmth of Li Yue'er's embrace.
"Good morning, Long Tian," Li Yue'er greeted, a warm smile gracing her face.
Still in the grasp of drowsiness, Long Tian smiled, "You seem quite enthusiastic today," he remarked.
"Well, today marks the selection for participation in the annual survival competition of the Han Empire. I'm genuinely excited about it," Li Yue'er responded.
"Is that so? Well, for me, I never really pondered it since passing is a certainty," Long Tian said with a confident grin.
"Yeah, for a genius like you, it's hardly a competition anymore. But for me, there are individuals who are on par or even surpass me, like Liu Qian," Li Yue'er expressed.
Long Tian remained silent, the name Liu Qian triggering a reminder to meet Liu Hai regarding the recently acquired purple flame.
"And about her... Did you two share a romantic history?" Li Yue'er suddenly inquired.
"Well, she's been a childhood friend, and we did share some intimate moments," Long Tian responded, a grin gracing his face.
Li Yue'er's expression soured. "So, who would perform better in bed?" she asked, a competitive edge in her tone.
"I can't say. Perhaps, if the three of us were to engage, I could better judge the prowess," Long Tian replied, his grin widening.
In response, Li Yue'er shot him a cynical look, "You're quite the pervert."
"I prefer the term 'experienced,'" Long Tian grinned.
Li Yue'er merely snorted at his response.
"But honestly, Yue'er, aren't you bothered by this conversation?" Long Tian suddenly questioned.
"I've mentioned it before, Long Tian. I understand I might not be the only one; I just hope I hold a special place in your heart," Li Yue'er responded, a smile playing on her lips with a hint of blush.
Long Tian smiled warmly as he embraced Li Yue'er. "You will always have a special place in my heart."
Li Yue'er returned the smile, finding joy in those reassuring words.
--------------
The sun had ascended, casting its radiant glow. The clock displayed 7:10 in the morning, signifying the completion of breakfast for Long Tian and Li Yue'er.
Li Yue'er, clad in a sports uniform, was geared up for the day as it marked the selection for the annual survival competition of the Han Empire. The school had scheduled two sessions, and today was her designated turn.
On the other hand, Long Tian, in his casual attire, knew that his turn would come tomorrow. With over 600 students in the senior class at Tianzhou High School, the selection process was bound to extend beyond a single day.
"I'm heading out now, Long Tian," Li Yue'er said, her smile exuding warmth.
Long Tian reciprocated with a smile and a nod.
She entered a sleek black car, accompanied by a sharply dressed bodyguard behind the wheel.
The engine roared to life, propelling the car away from the villa surroundings.
Long Tian didn't linger but walked straight to the backyard. The morning presented the perfect opportunity for a warm-up.
Positioned in the center of the backyard, he directed his gaze at the sun, its rays still gentle.
With unwavering focus, it appeared as if his body radiated heat akin to a blazing fire.
As seconds turned into minutes, the intensity of the heat enveloping him heightened. Even the grass beneath his feet seemed to ignite.
After a while, he vigorously waved his hand, and flames shot forth, targeting the grass and setting it ablaze.
Not content with that, he tightly clenched his hands while maintaining concentration. The veins on his forehead bulged in response to his seriousness.
In the next moment, he suddenly levitated a few inches above the ground. The bulging veins accentuated his seriousness.
With each passing second, he ascended higher, reaching a meter above the ground. However, this ascent resulted in the incineration of the grass beneath him, leaving only barren soil.
After a few moments, his breath ceased, and Long Tian descended to the ground. He breathed heavily, beads of sweat streaming down from his face to his body.
Yet, a satisfied grin adorned his face.
"Not bad, not bad at all!" he said with a grin.
What he had just attempted was a training method involving thousands of stars, with the sun as the primary medium. Given the sun's status as a star and its proximity, it provided a substantial power boost, even granting him the ability to float for a brief period.
After a few minutes of catching his breath, Long Tian stood up once again. His focus shifted to the aftermath of his experiment, revealing that much of the backyard grass had succumbed to the flames.
"Sigh, looks like I need to buy new grass," he murmured.
Having stood there for a few moments, he then returned inside the villa for another shower.
--------
As time relentlessly advanced, the sun began to cast its comforting warmth through the gentle embrace of its rays.
In this particular moment, Long Tian leisurely ambled toward his sleek, black car. His attire featured a stylish black shirt paired seamlessly with long, matching black pants.
Upon entering, he promptly ignited the engine and set off from the villa premises.
Today, he aimed to verify something. And his destination: Liu Qian's residence.
----------
Over 20 minutes had elapsed. In this moment, an opulent black car came to a halt right in front of a grand, expansive residence.
Long Tian was at the wheel. Observing that the gate was open, he smoothly maneuvered his car inside, parking it near the front garden—a space generous enough to hold at least six cars.
He powered down the engine and stepped out of the car.
Just as he was about to proceed, a soft voice resonated, "Long Tian, what brings you here?"
Long Tian swiftly turned toward the source, only to discover a stunning blonde-haired girl, none other than Liu Qian, tending to the plants, her voice echoing in the air.
