Chapter 184 Burning Vengeance
Chapter 184 Burning Vengeance
Still In the market area of the Gunji district, the market atmosphere had begun to quiet down as many people started leaving.
At this moment, the sky rumbled, but no one noticed it. And suddenly, a black lightning bolt struck the center of the market, creating a deafening "Bang!" that echoed through the surroundings.
Everyone near the lightning's impact zone immediately fell to the ground, startled by the unexpected lightning strike.
Among them, a young man, none other than Lin Fan, had the profound expression of shock.
The lightning struck right in front of him. If he had taken even a small step, it might have hit him, and he would have truly died.
Many people looked at him, and quite a few remarked that he was lucky.
------------
Meanwhile, inside his villa, Long Tian couldn't shake off his concern for Li Yue'er.
"It's unusual for her to be out this late. Could something have happened to her?" he pondered, furrowing his brow.
Despite Li Yue'er's formidable strength, whether it was her alter ego or her martial spirit taking control, there shouldn't be an issue facing a cultivator in the Nascent Soul realm.
After contemplating for a moment, he retrieved his smartphone and dialed Li Yue'er's number.
The phone beeped, signaling the call was in progress. However, after some time, the call remained unanswered.
Furrowing his brow, Long Tian muttered, "Where are you, Yue'er?"
He decided to call another number, Zi Yan, who was in the same class as Li Yue'er and also his ex-girlfriend. After a few moments, the call connected.
"Long Tian, is that you?" a gentle voice sounded, none other than Zi Yan.
"Yes, it's me, Zi Yan. I want to ask about Li Yue'er. You both hung out earlier, right? I want to know where you are now," Long Tian inquired.
"Yes, but we returned home two hours ago," Zi Yan responded.
"What?" Long Tian furrowed his brow. "Then why hasn't Yue'er come back yet?" he asked.
"Wait, you two live together?" Zi Yan suddenly asked.
"Yes, and let's not talk about that. I just want to know where Li Yue'er is now," Long Tian stated.
"Long Tian, please don't break her heart like you did to me, okay? Li Yue'er is a good girl," Zi Yan said.
"I'm not who I used to be, Zi Yan. You don't need to worry about her," Long Tian affirmed.
Zi Yan took a deep breath, "Fine, two hours ago when we were about to leave, she said she would go home on her own, so she didn't join us," she responded.
"Where was she last?" Long Tian asked.
"On the streets of Shitian center, that's where we parted ways," Zi Yan responded.
"Okay, thanks, Zi Yan," Long Tian said.
Then, he hung up the call.
Long Tian returned his smartphone to his pocket and rushed out of the villa.
Once outside, he unfurled his wings of darkness and soared into the sky, heading towards the Shitian street area.
------------
The air hung cold in the starless night sky above Tianzhou city.
In this moment, a figure gracefully landed atop a towering building — none other than Long Tian.
His gaze, cold and bathed in Crimson hues, seemed to ignite in the darkness of the night as he commanded, "Arise."
In response, dark Undead figures emerged from the rooftop, numbering 10. With his Undead forces intricately linked to him, he harnessed them to locate Li Yue'er.
"Find her!" he commanded.
Instantaneously, the ten Undead set off, swiftly dispersing in all directions to scour for Li Yue'er.
Long Tian's gaze bore a sense of gravity as he peered down upon the bustling streets, alive with the movement of cars and pedestrians along the roadside.
He didn't merely linger; he ascended into the air. His eyes scanned the entire expanse, intent on pinpointing Li Yue'er.
After a duration, he halted, receiving a direct signal from one of his Undead.
Swiftly altering his course, he soared as if preordained towards his destination.
After a passage of time, he arrived above a towering structure, where his humanoid Undead stood, gesturing towards a door.
Without hesitation, Long Tian rushed towards the door, effortlessly breaking it open despite being locked from within.
He sprinted down the staircase with his Undead companion in tow. The spiral staircase stretched seemingly endless.
After navigating myriad steps, Long Tian forcefully breached another door.
Upon entry, he was met with an array of numerous boxes and towering shelves.
"Is this a warehouse? Are you certain Yue'er is here?" he questioned, his focus unwavering on his Undead.
The Undead nodded, pointing towards yet another door.
Long Tian acknowledged with a nod and hastened towards the door, breaking through it once again. This time, he found himself in an empty, white room.
Undeterred, he pressed on, guided by his Undead.
-----------
Over 10 minutes elapsed as Long Tian methodically explored rooms, ranging from offices and apartments to even restaurants. It became apparent that this building served diverse purposes.
Now, he found himself standing before an apparently unlocked black door. Swiftly, he opened it, unveiling a lavish room adorned with various furnishings, expansive glass windows offering scenic views, a television, and comfortable sofas.
Long Tian advanced until the sound of stabbing caught his attention from behind a wall. Swiftly, he rushed towards the origin of the noise and was taken aback by the scene.
On the floor, Li Yue'er was mercilessly stabbing a muscular middle-aged man. His body bore a gruesome sight, adorned with various stab wounds and slashes.
Li Yue'er's visage echoed the brutality, soaked in blood with a fierce expression as she continued her assault.
Approaching cautiously, Long Tian intervened, "Hey, hey, Yue'er, what are you doing?" he questioned, firmly grabbing Li Yue'er's hand.
Li Yue'er's gaze remained infused with anger, but upon meeting Long Tian's eyes, her expression softened.
"He's a member of the Li family! The bastard who often disrespected my mother!" she exclaimed with anger.
Long Tian looked to the middle-aged man once more, who appeared to have ceased breathing. "Alright, he's dead now. So, that's enough, okay?" he stated, his unwavering gaze fixed on Li Yue'er.
Li Yue'er took a deep breath and exhaled. "I think I'll start killing the despicable members of the Li family," she declared.
"That's good, but it would be better if I help you to do it," Long Tian suggested.
"No, I will do it on my own," Li Yue'er vowed with cold determination.
Long Tian fell silent for a moment, sensing a change in Li Yue'er.
"Alright, you can do it on your own, but you need to be stronger than ever. And you'll do it with me," he affirmed.
A smile formed on Li Yue'er's face, feeling warmth within her heart in the presence of Long Tian.
"Let's go home, Long Tian," she suggested.
"Of course. But first, let's burn this body," Long Tian responded, his gaze fixed on the middle-aged man's body.
Approaching, he ignited black flames with his hands. Without hesitation, he promptly set the middle-aged man's body on fire.
The flames consumed the body, gradually burning from the clothing to the flesh.
Li Yue'er gazed at the burning body with a determined look. One down, but there were still many members of the Li family worse than this man.
After a while, the middle-aged man's body was completely reduced to ashes.
"Can you stand?" inquired Long Tian, extending his hand.
Li Yue'er nodded and then rose with Long Tian's assistance.
However, Long Tian couldn't conceal his expression of concern as he observed some wounds on Li Yue'er's body.
Sensing Long Tian's gaze, Li Yue'er quickly reassured, "Don't worry about it, Long Tian. These wounds will heal on their own."
"Did your second martial spirit not take over your body when you faced that man?" Long Tian asked.
"I seem to have gained control over my second martial spirit now, but I still need a lot of practice," Li Yue'er responded.
Long Tian nodded. Then, he flicked his finger, and two Undead, one humanoid and one wolf, suddenly rose from his shadow.
"From now on, you two will guard Li Yue'er," he commanded.
Both Undead nodded and then entered, disappearing into Li Yue'er's shadow.
Li Yue'er, on the other hand, couldn't contain her curiosity. "What is it?" she asked.
"This is my newfound power. I can summon an army of Undead. And that pair; I believe it's sufficient to aid you in challenging situations," Long Tian responded.
"Thank you, Long Tian," Li Yue'er expressed sincerely, a genuine smile on her face.
Long Tian smiled in return. "Alright, let's depart from this place," he said.
Li Yue'er nodded. With that, they strolled to the window and opened it.
Wings of darkness unfurled from Long Tian's back as he flew, carrying Li Yue'er.
--------------
The night intensified with a pervasive chill. In this moment, Long Tian arrived at the villa and soared directly to the second floor, entering through the window.
Fueled by their desires, they engaged in a fervent kiss. Enveloped by the brisk air, they commenced disrobing each other.
Long Tian gently pressed Li Yue'er onto the bed. Before long, the room resonated with the passionate sounds of their intimate moments.
