CH.270 Dimensional Fissure Experiment

CH.270 Dimensional Fissure Experiment

“Thank you for coming, Brian.” I got greeted by a rainbow haired lady.

“... Not really like I had a choice… So, what may I do for you, Goddess?” I asked. “Or did you call me here just to chat? I can just chat as well.”

I was in the already somewhat familiar parlor room, where I met with either Aulis or the Goddess. And this time, she was here herself. And I was all alone, no Alice or Lua.

“I’d love to, but sadly, I simply do not have the time for that. Perhaps if we can solve our current issues, we could spend some time just relaxing. I called you here because of the dimensional fissures. I believe I know why more of them will be appearing in the coming times.”

“... you ‘believe’? So you don’t actually know.”

“Need I remind you that without my physical body, I am not all-powerful?”

“... I guess you did say that. So, what do you know?”

“While I was correct in that the new Chaos God Dungeon will reduce the burden on the dimensional barrier, it won’t fix the already damaged barrier. And it has broken to the point where we may not be able to repair it. Because of that, the barrier will keep deteriorating, and more dimensional fissures will appear.”

“... so, we have to fix the barrier?”

“Yes. But it isn’t that simple. Last time it was done, an extremely potent magic, which exceeds this world's System, was used. It used a power given to the Hero by a God greater than I am, and we simply do not have something like that to use this time. And even if we did, it should not be done.”

“... the hero, huh.”

“I can tell you have some questions about him.”

“... you could say that. Well, I do have my ideas about his past, but I still do wonder, why doesn’t he have a recorded name? Shouldn’t that be something that is known?”

“It cannot be known.” The Goddess stated. “The Hero… he was someone like you, but you figured that out already, didn’t you?”

“Someone from a different world? Yeah. I kind of guessed that part.” I admitted.

“But unlike you, he didn’t slip between World barriers. He was transported here by a God, higher in power than I am, after his untimely death in his previous world. We accepted him, because we needed someone to stand up to the Demon Lord, who was causing instability between the dimensions. The Hero was granted a few powers to accomplish that mission, one of them was all of his memories from Earth. … But after the Demon Lord was defeated, the dimensional barrier that separates the Chaos God Energy dimension from the dimension you now live in almost burst open and needed to be fixed immediately. For that, the Hero used the power of his memories. Everything about him that originated from his previous life was lost at that time, and could not be remembered by anyone in this world. That includes myself and the System Agents. That is why his name is not written anywhere. It was wiped from the world to save the world.”

… wow. Didn’t expect that. The Hero must have had a great deal of willpower. I’m not sure if I could give up all of my memories from before I got transported here. Maybe in the heat of the moment, but I feel like I’d definitely regret that later.

But at the same time…

“Do memories really have that kind of power?” I asked the Goddess.

“Normally not, but as I said, it was a power given to him by a God. It manifested as the Unique Skill: Perfect Memory. And by sacrificing it, the Hero was able to completely repair the dimensional barrier.”

“But if a unique skill has that power, can’t we just sacrifice one of mine? I can even make new ones with my cards, so I can just make a new one, and sacrifice it.” I offered. I didn’t really want to give up any of the uniques I had at this moment, but if necessary, I could. As long as I have Pack Opener, I can remake Tahlia or Fantasia. It would suck, a lot, but for the world, I might just do it.

“It wouldn’t work. You don’t realize the difference between skills granted by this world, and skills granted by Gods from different worlds. The skills you have are all skills made from the Chaos God Energy. In fact, your Pack Opener uses Chaos God Energy to make the cards. If that energy could be used to fix this, we wouldn’t have a problem in the first place. But we might have a solution, in the form of Exodia.”

“Oh? Well… then how does Exodia fit into this?”

“Exodia, like the rest of your monsters, come from a world that is different from ours. This means they have techniques both similar and different from the ones we use. This is a great advantage, as the mixture of both might be able to fix the deteriorating dimensional barrier.
That leads us to why I called you here tonight. I’d like you to head to a place where the dimensional barrier is weakened, and summon your Exodia there. I believe you made divine sleeves for it already.”

“Yes. Two days ago.”

“Good. Go there and summon him. If he can repair the barrier, without having to cause a fissure, that would be optimal. But if he cannot, you are allowed to open up the fissure, and attempt to fix it instead. If that fails, we will send you a card to fix it like last time, but we would prefer not to. I will send the location information to System Support Laura. I’ll also add a mission, so you can get a reward for it.”

“Alright. Thanks. … but what about the dungeon? I don’t think it is safe yet.”

“Are you saying that your Gate Guardian boss monster isn’t strong enough?”

“Well, I could get through it, so maybe?”

“Don’t use yourself as the standard. But perhaps I can give you something special as an added reward. And the dungeon is still deep, so no one will be able to clear it in the time it will take you to get back to it. And unlike a normal dungeon, the Chaos God Dungeon can teleport you, or the dragon you named the Dungeon Master, back to protect the core if necessary.”

“... I didn’t know that…”

“You should look into everything the dungeon can do. Not just defending it and your little duel disk project.”

“... I’ll see what I can do.”

“Good. It is time for you to return. Good luck.”

“... thanks. Let’s hope I don’t completely screw this up.”

“We have full faith in you.” The Goddess said, before my vision went black.

“I think I should go meet with my mother again.” Lua said, as I was telling them about what the Goddess told me. “I want to start going to other dhampir towns.”

“Sure. Ria can come with you. I’ll also move the Prince’s letter to the shared folder, so you can use it, if you need it. Also Ria, I made you some armored pants to go with your jacket.” I told the two. The pants I made for Ria were nothing special. They were just some lightning boa hide, with some blood iron inserts to increase defense. They were fine, but nothing I’d consider ‘top tier’. But the +170 defense, and the quick feet effect they offered is not bad at all. They also had the 'feed blood to auto-repair function. Oh, quick feet just makes you move a bit faster, by the way.

“Thanks. I’ll make sure to use them.” Ria said, as she took the pants. She then quickly moved to her bedroom, so she could test them on.

“Alice, what about you?” I asked.

“... I think I’d like to go visit Mother, and maybe head to the adventurer’s guild. We haven’t done any of that in a while. I want to get my guild rank up.”

“Sure. You can sell any of the C and B-rank monster corpses, if you want to, but be careful not to sell too many, so you don’t get too much attention.” I told her. “Also, I made a new swordstaff for you. It is made from an aluminum alloy, with a steel edge, so you can actually use it in battle.” Her new one was also styled more like the swordstaff of Dark Paladin. Alice’s previous one was just a bronze short sword attached to a bronze pole, so it was double edged, but the new one only had a single cutting edge, like the swordstaff of Dark Paladin.

“Thanks, Brian. When can I expect the mithril one?” Alice asked, as she received her new swordstaff.

“How about when you get some sort of weapon skill for it? And I’d like to have my monsters make it, so it will also have to wait until my order with the Hill family comes in. That should be in about 2 or 3 weeks.”

“Can’t you just make one with this dungeon?”

“I can, but my monsters want to make you one, so… I could make the raw materials, but I think you can wait a few weeks, right?”

“... alright. I’ll wait. And I'll get the skill while I wait.”

It has been three days since I woke up from my evolution. We were still living in the core room of my new Chaos God Dungeon, which I decided to name HomeBase. It did give me that feeling, after all. My HomeBase. The place where I can return to, even if everything goes horribly wrong.

“And you, Agunan? Want to come with me, or go with Alice?”

“Of course I shall come with you, Master. Unless you require me to guard your female.”

“You won’t get to challenge Exodia, just so you know. You even got your ass handed to you by The Wicked Dreadroot and The Wicked Avatar when you challenged them in the factory, so don’t think you can take on Exodia.”

Spoiler

Admittedly, Agunan did actually tie with The Wicked Eraser. The Wicked Eraser couldn’t beat him ‘normally’ so it used its special effect to destroy both of them. Thank god it was in the factory, or Agunan might have died to the point where I can no longer resurrect him, because his body got completely annihilated.

Spoiler

Also, we had once again resumed using level ups, so I was now LV.101. I also tested if my skills can go over 10, so I now had LV.11 Mana Control. Lua was now LV.99 and was stuck there, since she doesn’t have Limit Break (extra). Alice was level 89, so she is getting close to the cap, and Ria was LV.90.

In terms of training, I’ve spent time practicing space magic, swordsmanship and the two draconic skills I can get when I’m Dragon Hearted, while Alice has been working on her swordstaff skill, if there even is one, and fire magic, and Lua has worked on her mana healing, light magic. She even began experimenting with Holy magic, but it isn’t going so well.

As for the, ‘I’ll move the letter to the shared folder’ and ‘You can sell any of the C and B-rank monster corpses’ I said to Lua and Alice. Well, I figured out how I could give the girls permission to use my Storage. It could only be done with System Support holders because it used the System Link between our System Supports, so only Alice and Lua could access it. They gained a title for it and everything.

I could also make folders, and only give access to specific folders to them, so I made a Shared folder that any of us could use, as well as a personal ones for both of them. I could still access their personal Storage folders, but Tahlia promised the girls she would gatekeep me from them.

“Alright. Alice, Lua. Here are your copies of Gradius, so you can move how you’d like.” I gave the girls their Gradius. I had installed a few cards into them, to make them good. Both had Machine Conversion Factory and a defense increasing 7 Completed.

Spoiler

Alice’s Gradius also had a Mage Power and Cyclon Laser. This would give the ship some great fire power.

Spoiler

Meanwhile, Lua’s had Gradius' Option and United We Stand. With that, the ship could send out these little drone things that could either attack or defend. Or scout, or so on. And because the Gradius' Option drones had the same stats as the Gradius, they were no joke.

Spoiler

Alice’s had a bit more firepower, but in terms of utility, Lua’s Gradius was definitely superior. But to each their own. Comparing the two is like comparing a bomber plane to a flying aircraft carrier. … well, more like a flying drone carrier.

For other things. I had played around with the cards from the Spellcaster's Command structure deck, but I haven’t gotten to the point where I could make a full Citadel. Factory tests are still ongoing with that, and will likely take a week or two to complete.

Spoiler

And even if I could make one, where would I put it? I was thinking over this Chaos God Dungeon, but we are in the middle of nowhere, so transportation would be a pain. I could potentially move the dungeon, because it is a Chaos God Dungeon, but again, the problem is where would I place it? I’d also have to ask the Goddess, or maybe a System Agent like Aulis, if I am allowed to move it. Well, I’ll ask the next time I meet them, and considering the test I’m doing today, it might just be tomorrow night.

We moved to the exit of the dungeon with these little teleport rings I made us. They could only be used inside the dungeon, and Agunan and I could just use the dungeon terminals, but they would allow the girls to teleport within the dungeon. I made sure they wouldn’t wear them on their left ring fingers, by the way. Lua had hers on her right index finger, Alice on her left middle finger, and Ria wore hers on a necklace I made her, because she said it would get in the way otherwise. The rings were all locked so that only the person they were made for could use them, so there was no worry about them getting misused, if they were lost or stolen.

“Do your best to hold down the fort.” I told Agunan. In the end, he decided to just stay at the dungeon, keeping it safe.

The three of us summoned our Gradius, jumped in, and headed to … well, Alice and Lua were heading into relatively the same direction, but I was heading north. Let’s go see if Exodia can solve our issues.
