Chapter 355: Fourth World: Hiding In The Pantry Eating Cheese Balls

Qie Ranzhe was sitting in the car about to dial Su Xin's number when he saw him exit the private club. A sweet smile appeared on his exhausted face but it soon fell when he realised Su Xin's mood wasn't exactly right. His face turned a few shades darker when he saw an unexpected tail following behind Su Xin.

He abruptly opened the door in a fit of rage and caught up to them in two strides. He was just in time to hear Su Xin yelling, "Stay the fuck away from me," in a taut voice. Qie Ranzhe pulled Su Xin behind him and faced Kai Zheng with a fierce gaze that could have a dog running away with its tail between its legs.

Intimidating as it may seem, Kai Zheng stood his ground. If he back down now he would seem like a coward in front of his crush. Wen Qinxi pursed his lips before pulling Qie Ranzhe's elbow. The amount of gun powder coming from these two might end in bloodshed and Wen Qinxi wasn't in the mood to watch a fight. He had other things on his mind.

It took Wen Qinxi tugging at Qie Ranzhe five times to snap him out of it. Even then he was still glowering at Kai Zheng like a fierce demon straight out of hell. He allowed Su Xin to pull him into the car but his state of mind in this instant was not good for driving so he let Su Xin take the wheel.

A convoy of cars drove out of the private club with neither of them saying anything. Qie Ranzhe was trying to suppress his anger with his eyes closed while Wen Qinxi was driving with a scowl on his handsome face. The awkward silence only broke when they arrived at the mansion with Wen Qinxi asking, "Is there something you want to tell me?" in a disgruntled tone.

It was only then that Qie Ranzhe finally opened his eyes only to be met by Su Xin's pale face and reddened eyes. The way he was gripping the steering wheel tightly gave off the feeling that he was working extremely hard to quell his emotions.

Qie Ranzhe's anger cooled down a few degrees sitting up straight while asking, "What's wrong? Are you angry with me?" This question threw him off because he expected Su Xin's anger to be directed at Kai Zheng but it turns out that wasn't the case.

Wen Qinxi wasn't one to dangle a carrot in front of a donkey so he told it like it is. "You and Kai Zi.... did you?"

Qie Ranzhe's eyebrows creased for a second like he was trying to make sense of what Su Xin was talking about and when he finally understood his brows relaxed only to tighten in the very next second.

He swallowed hard and tried to grab Su Xin with his trembling hand but Su Xin dodged. If Qie Ranzhe wasn't scared before then he was most definitely scared now.

A heartbroken smile hung on Su Xin's face as he mumbled, "I see," before opening the car door."

Wen Qinxi knew he shouldn't be this upset but recalling that kiss these two shared in the study he couldn't help but eat a bucket load of vinegar. If they hadn't slept together in the past it would be excusable. In fact, he had already let it go but knowing they had done it, it sparked an indescribable rage that wasn't easy to suppress. 'Just get the fuck over it. It's just sex, right?' he thought to himself while walking into the mansion like a zombie.

Qie Ranzhe didn't immediately follow looking down at his hand that had just been swatted away. He was stuck in a trance his mind as blank as a sheet of paper. It took Machu opening the door for him to break out of his mental prison.

"Ran-ge, are you okay?" asked the vexed Machu who had no idea these two were fighting.

Qie Ranzhe brushed away the strands of hair on his forehead and said, "I want Kai Zi's and Kai Zheng's heads in two days. Don't come back without them," in a hoarse voice.

Machu, "..."

"Ran-ge that? It's impossible to pull it off in two days," exclaimed Machu, "Unless if you lure him out personally." As soon as he said those words, a vicious glare was sent his way inciting shivers down his spine. They already had a plan in place but two days was too short of a time to achieve this goal. He wanted to negotiate but the look on Qie Ranzhe's face was too scary.

Qie Ranzhe walked into the house looking for his runaway husband but he was nowhere to be found. He was still searching when he found Madam Qie and Qie Xieling getting ready for the music festival tonight.

A lot of things had happened today that he completely forgot about it. He had been looking forward to watching his son's performance with his husband right beside him but now this had happened. So how were they going to go together?

"Daddy, me and Nana are going early. Don't forget to bring dad along," said Qie Xieling while his grandma was straightening the miniature tuxedo. The kid was especially excited because he could finally show off his dad to his classmates. Each year he watched as other kids showed off their moms with envy. He knew he didn't have a mommy but his dad was enough and he also wanted to brag that he has two dads.

After he shared the fudge made by Su Xin with his entire class, everyone was curious to meet Su Xin which is why he reminded his daddy to bring his dad along.

"Oh, and don't forget to bring flowers for our little superstar," said Madam Qie ruffling Qie Xieling's neatly combed hair.

"Ah! Nana.... you ruined it," he said patting down his hairstyle.

"En," responded Qie Ranzhe his mind mile away. He waited for them to leave so he could go look for Su Xin. Surprisingly, he found him in the pantry sitting on the floor with a huge container of cheese balls and a half-drunk bottle of red wine. This scene was incredibly funny but he couldn't laugh unless he wanted to be divorced.

He strode over and sat next to Su Xin without saying a word. The two men sat on the floor in silence.

There was only a crunching and the occasional chewing sounds. Qie Ranzhe reached over to wipe the orange crumbs off Su Xin's face and whispered, "We have to go to Lin Lin's music festival. Will you please go with me?"

Wen Qinxi paused his chewing motion and felt his eyes stinging as his vision blurred. He was most likely going to cry so he stood up sucking back the stubborn tears and left the pantry. He didn't want Qie Ranzhe to see him crying which is why he walked away but his actions were greatly misunderstood.

Qie Ranzhe didn't know how on earth he was supposed to coax Su Xin this time. So he could only follow behind and prepare for the music festival. Maybe after the programme, Su Xin will be in the mood to hear him out.
