Mo Linyuan stood aloof and mighty. He pulled Ye Mu towards him, and mocked the rebel with a sneer, “The people I killed were sinners. The people I protect are blessed by God. And why should I follow the laws of etiquettes, when I am the law? You are truly ridiculous.”

He then squeezed Ye Mu’s hand, “Besides, you all were the ones who wanted to threaten me with this little girl first. How could your actions be considered righteous behaviors? Don’t try to cover up your filthy greed with deceptive words. I’m annoyed just hearing your words.”

Afterwards, the rebel was gagged and dragged out.

The rest of them were also taken away to be interrogated and tortured.

After witnessing the whole imprisonment process, Ye Mu then asked Mo Linyuan, “When he was accusing you of being lustful and immoral.. Is it because of me?”

Mo Linyuan grimaced. He then squeezed her face with anger and humor, making her cry in pain. “Are you serious? Besides you, there are no other women who’ve been by my side!”

Ye Mu thought about the history of China that she knew of. Historically, Mo Linyuan had a lot of concubines and an empress. Unconvinced, she said doubtedly, “But what if you find another woman in the future?

Mo Linyuan’s eyes softly lit up. He abruptly stretched out his hand and pulled Ye Mu into his arms. He lifted her bright little face towards him. He asked in utter seriousness, “Are you jealous?”

“No way!” Ye Mu subconsciously denied.

Regardless, Mo Linyuan still said delightfully, “Ok then, why don’t I make you a promise?”

He embraced Ye Mu, placing his chin on top of her head. He said happily and gently, “As long as you stay by my side, I promise that you’re my only woman. Only you …inside and out… my heart belongs only to you! ”

Despite them being high up on top of the white jade steps and surrounded by hundreds of imperial soldiers’ gazes, he just simply embraced Ye Mu and swore an emperor’s oath.

Ye Mu couldn’t put any words to her feelings, but she did feel satisfied and a bit stuffy.

In the imperial prison, the recently captured people had gone through a preliminary interrogation. Each and every one of them had wounds; two even died.

Mo Linyuan didn’t really care about those that have already died. He sat high on his imperial chair. His phoenix-like eyes were half opened, assessing the prisoners through his long lashes, “Bring me the leader. I will personally interrogate him myself.”

Soon after, a miserably beaten man was pushed to his knees next to Mo Linyuna’s feet. Mo Linyuan couldn’t help but sneer when he saw it was the person that boldly cursed him before.

“Damned emperor!” That person still refused to admit defeat. Even though he was forced to his knee, he kept glaring at Mo Linyuan.

Mo Linyuan slightly lifted his eyebrows and said slowly, “It would seem that you really don’t want me to let you go?”

The man was shocked before humphing coldly, “Will I really be able to survive after being captured by you?”

Mo Linyuan stated leisurely, “Not necessarily. I genuinely want to let you go. As a matter of fact, I also want you to deliver a message for me.”

“What message?” the rebel demanded.

Seeing this, Mo Linyuan smiled faintly.

His exquisite dragon crown gleamed in the cold light. His crown really suited him, as he was also an extremely exquisite being that could easily deceive others of the hidden dangers within.

He asserted with a malicious smile, “I want you to tell those people that I have half of the city boundary map in my possession.”
