My Goalkeeping System

Chapter 460 Odd Substitution

With eighty-seven minutes on the clock now, the ball finally went out for a throw-in against Dynamo FC and now it was time for Dave to make his appearance in the match.

The goalkeeper was already dressed and was standing beside the official with the board.

"Looks like it's finally time for Dave to join his teammates on the pitch with just two minutes of normal playing time left," Jim commented. "I wonder how much this will be able to change for Unique FC."

The official raised the board to show the number one in green and the number thirty-two in red.

Alexander knew that was his clue to start making his way out of the pitch.

The young goalkeeper received applause from a few of the fans but it wasn't really anything special.

However, he still had a bright smile on his face as he made his way to Dave, and the two shared a hug before Dave made his way into the pitch and began to jog toward the goalpost.

The goalkeeper received a standing ovation from the fans as he made his way to the goalpost and even some of them were screaming his name.

Unique FC fans knew about the things he could do which was why their reaction was like this because they believed the goalkeeper could do something, but most of the away fans who had never seen a Unique FC game this season apart from when they're their opponents were just confused.

They knew he was clearly the best goalkeeper in the league so far this season according to statistics but how was he going to help them get an equalizer? He was a goalkeeper after all so their reaction was sort of justified, but they had no idea.

"You could have done this a long time ago, coach." Minino scoffed before turning his gaze to Roland who was holding the ball in the sidelines.

"Hmph." Martinez reacted with a smile on his face.

"Let's see where this goes," Frank muttered with his right hand on his waist.

"Dave's on the pitch now with just a minute of normal time left, Unique FC needs to get the ball moving fast," Jim commented.

'Alright, let's do this.'

'I'll try my best, system.'

<This is about to get interesting>

Roland quickly threw the ball to Mateo who had to quickly send it rolling to Fredinho.

As soon as Fredinho got his foot on the ball, he sent it rolling back toward Martinez, and as soon as the defensive midfielder got his foot on the ball, he quickly sent it rolling back to Dave.

"Martinez sends it rolling back to the goalkeeper."

"Thanks, Martinez." The goalkeeper muttered as soon as he trapped the ball under his feet.

Conrad was heading toward the goalkeeper now alongside Damian and during that time, he had a couple of things going on inside his mind.

'Oh, I'm just going to go for it, the match is almost over anyway.'

Just before Conrad could get to him, he pushed off with the ball a little to the right, and just as he got to the edge of the box, he fired the ball straight toward the goalpost.

"Dave's going for the goalpost!"

The goalkeeper wasn't on his goal line, but he had to quickly return to his goal line just to be able to get his hand on the ball.

The ball was heading straight toward the top right-hand corner but he was able to get his hand on it right in time to tip it over the bar.

"And Victor comes through to deny him!"

Victor crashed into his goalpost after making that save and now he was just looking at his gloves with a stunned look on his face.

"What sort of shot power was that?"

"What the heck?" One of the fans stuttered with a shocked expression on his face. "How did he do that?"

"If you had watched any of their previous matches you wouldn't be surprised, that's one of the things Dave can do as a goalkeeper, we're lucky he wasn't able to start the game." The lady beside him explained.

"Nice save from Victor, but now they have a corner kick to deal with six minutes of added time left in the game," Steve commented.

"And would you look at that, Dave is coming to join the action." Jim pointed out. "This could work against them in a lot of ways but he's willing to take the risk."

Dave was indeed on the other half of the pitch which left their goalpost completely open but he didn't venture into the box and just stayed about twenty-five yards away from the box.

Ferran was waiting for the referee's whistle on the spot now, and as soon as he heard it, he quickly sent the ball flying in with the aim of getting it to one of his teammates and hoping that the person would be able to put it in.

However, that didn't work out as planned as a Dynamo FC player ended up getting his head on the ball, and he sent it flying toward his teammate near the edge of the box.

Things weren't looking good for Unique FC at this moment, but as soon as the midfielder trapped the ball near the edge of the box, Minino zoomed in toward him and got the ball off his feet with a neat sliding tackle.

There was no foul there as confirmed by the referee as the ball rolled toward Martinez who immediately sent it rolling to Dave who was behind him a little to the right.

"The match is coming to an end and they're still with the ball here."

After witnessing what the goalkeeper did from his goalpost which was quite unreal, Frank quickly rushed toward him to try and stop him as he was the closest player to him.

However, just before he could get to the goalkeeper, he gave the ball a little push before he pulled back his right foot and fired the ball straight toward the goalpost.

"Dave goes for another strike!"

This time he sent it flying toward the top left-hand side, and although Victor was able to get the tip of his gloves on it, it just wasn't enough to keep the ball from going out as the ball ended up hitting the crossbar before smashing right into the goalpost.

"I have only one word for that goal and it's 'Spectacular!" Jim exclaimed. "Just when his team needed him, he came in and got that equalizer with a strike straight from a football fantasy novel!"

Dave quickly raced to the sidelines screaming at the top of his voice quickly as his teammates rushed after him.

The fans were overflowing with joy now as most of them could be seen jumping up and down in the stands.

"Well, this is usually known as a scripted moment."
