Chapter 987: Maximizing One's Time (1)
Chapter 987: Maximizing One's Time (1)
"Phew."
Wiping the sweat off his forehead, Valyr let out a faint sigh of relief as he deactivated all of the skills he'd been using for the past two days.
Utilizing some of his Prime Azure Energy to return the forging hammers he'd taken from the nearby tool racks, he then stored the Hammer of Beginnings back into his spatial bracelet before doing a set of basic stretches.
"I've forged all of the items the town would need for the monster tide." Whilst doing his stretches, the young man took a moment to point towards the pile of finished items beside him, prompting Tristan to snap out of his stupor.
Shaking his head for a bit to truly return to reality, Tristan looked at Valyr for a bit as he made his way to the pile of items the latter mentioned, somewhat doubtful that the young man had indeed completed the list of items he asked for.
Yet, the more he looked through the pile, the more he realized that the feeling he got from Valyr while he was forging wasn't wrong, seeing that all of the items he'd asked Valyr to forge were all there.
Not only that, but the quality of the items Valyr forged weren't compromised whatsoever, even though during the forging process, it seemed as if Valyr was going through the forging process for each item in a frenzy.
Taking in a deep breath to calm himself down from the immense shock he felt, Tristan messaged a few of the guild's staff members to bring the pile of items Valyr forged to where it was needed, prompting him to glance at Valyr after that.
Seeing as Valyr was coincidentally looking back at him the moment he did so, a myriad of questions began to linger within the young man's mind.
What did Valyr go through to get to his current realm of blacksmithing?
What did Valyr do in the past nine months to boast a terrifying level of strength?
Was it possible for Valyr to teach him how to forge so that he could make use of it as well?
In the end, Tristan asked none of those questions whatsoever.
Instead, he looked at the young man with a slightly apologetic smile before asking, "Feeling hungry?"
At those words, Valyr merely smiled as he nodded. "Kind of."
Hearing that, Tristan asked another staff member of the guild to grab food for both of them, making use of the time they were waiting for the food to arrive to ask Valyr a couple of things about forging along the way.
Of course, being the one that allowed him to return to the world of forging in the first place, Valyr did not mind any of Tristan's questions at all, even giving the man a bit more information than what was necessary at times.
Naturally, hearing how in-depth the information Valyr was giving to him, Tristan eventually let out a sigh in admiration, looking at the young man with a wry smile. "I seriously wonder how you'd grown this much in just the span of months."
In response, Valyr let out a slight chuckle. "Let me assure you, I'd rather protect the town from monster tides for a couple of years rather than go through what I did in the past nine months."
Though he did say that, the fact still stood that he wouldn't have gotten up to this realm of power and skill if not for the inheritance.
Eventually, the two finished their conversation after a staff member brought two sets of decently sized meals to both Tristan and Valyr, prompting the latter to thank the staff member for their time as they soon dug in.
By the time he was done eating, Valyr felt that he'd regained all of the energy he expended during the past couple days.
Feeling renewed strength course through his body, the young man thought about the special equipment he'd forge for Tristan and the others as he brought up the list of prerequisite quests he had for his main class.
Ding!
Growth Quests (The First Blacksmith):
> Forge 3 weapons that are at least Epic+ grade or higher (0/3)
> Upgrade an item to Legendary grade (0/1)
> Ascend one's Intent related to forging up to the 5th Grade (0/1)
> Emulate 80% or more of the properties of an average Rare + grade tool through [Ephemeral Tools of the First Blacksmith] (0/1)
Rewards: Ascension of the First Blacksmith class to Ancient + grade, additional skills and other miscellaneous rewards
'Hmm...' Looking through the list of quests through a screen in his mind, it did not take long for Valyr to come to a conclusion. 'I wouldn't be able to do any of the first three quests
anytime soon...'
'But the last quest seems simple enough.'
"[Ephemeral Tools of the First Blacksmith]."
Returning his attention back to what was in front of him, Valyr soon circulated energy throughout his body, causing a forging hammer made out of mana to manifest atop one of his hands not long after.
With him still in the middle of eating, Tristan remained silent as he watched Valyr conjure a forging hammer out of nowhere.
Nevertheless, the same could not be said for his thoughts, which had already gone haywire as he felt the hammer's quality already exceed the forging hammers many of the blacksmiths within the guild make use of.
'Hmm... because I leveled up the skill up to the peak of Uncommon+ grade, this hammer already has 40% of the average stats of a Rare+ grade hammer.'
Looking at the hammer he conjured, Valyr nodded in satisfaction, already feeling the hammer to be quite serviceable if he were to use it.
However, as he had something like the Hammer of Beginnings, Valyr naturally thought that it would instead be better to emulate the artifact instead.
Keeping in mind that he was only conjuring the hammer because the quest told him to, Valyr began to infuse his mana into the hammer, gradually increasing its stats bit by bit.
'At the skill's current level, I need to spend 2,000 MP just to improve the hammer's stats by one percent,' thought Valyr to himself, feeling as if the hammer was siphoning all of the mana within his body.
Fortunately, the sensation did not last for long as a couple notification sounds resounded in his mind the moment Valyr was left with roughly a third of his mana.
Ding!
