Chapter 1184 Little by Little
Chapter 1184 Little by Little
"…We're sorry we didn't buy anything in the end, Valyr."
After going through about half of the items within the shop with Valyr's help, the two players eventually revealed to him that they didn't have any money to buy any of the items he created.
Feeling a bit guilty for dragging the young man around to get more information on the items they sought to obtain for themselves, the two looked at him with slightly apologetic expressions.
"It's fine. Don't worry." Of course, Valyr did not mind. After all, he knew that it would take a while for the players to start having enough money to buy items. "The fact that you decided to stop by my place is more than enough, really."
Though Valyr did not mean anything by his words, the two only felt even more guilty, thinking of the young man as someone who toiled day or night to set up his shop, only for his first set of customers to be a couple of people just looking around for things to buy.
Inwardly promising to themselves that they'd buy an item from Valyr's shop the moment they had enough money, the two players soon bade farewell to the young man, thinking of heading back to where the other players were for the meantime.
However, just as they were about to leave the shop for good, Valyr's words stopped them in their tracks as they began to look at him in confusion.
"Say, I hope you don't mind me asking, but is it possible to add you guys to my friend list? I might need the help of a couple people to do some errands for me in the future."
"Er…" Not knowing how to reply, the two players looked at each for a bit before looking back at Valyr. "Is there a reason why you need to add us to your friend list? You could just call for us, no?"
"I could." Valyr nodded, only to smile soon after. "But contacting you through your friend list is way easier to do."
Surprisingly, those words only caused further confusion to the two players, causing the two to whisper to each other after that for quite some time.
Thankfully, in the end, the two agreed to Valyr's request, prompting the latter to smile as he taught them how to add him as a friend.
Ding!
[Belial (Lv. 1) has sent you a friend request.]
[Tianshen01 (Lv. 1) has sent you a friend request.]
Hearing the notifications that echoed in his mind, Valyr went ahead and brought up his notification screen, only for him to pause as he read the names of the two players a couple of times.
Fortunately, the two players in front of him did not find anything amiss, continuing to smile as he told them that he'd accepted their friend requests.
Faintly surprised that they were able to add Valyr to their friend list, it took a bit longer than usual for the two to leave the young man's shop for good.
Though, by the time the young man was left to his own devices, Valyr let out a wide sigh as he bitterly smiled at the thought of the players he interacted with just now.
"Belial and Tianshen01, huh," muttered Valyr to himself, briefly thinking back to his time as a player in his past life.
Even before Greater Beyond had become the massive worldwide hit it eventually turned out to be, Valyr was already more than familiar with the names Belial and Tianshen01.
After all, those two names were the two leaders of what many people called the Five Leviathans of the VRMMORPG world.
Having established their respective organizations by the time the second generation of VRMMO games rose to the scene, the Five Leviathans slowly but surely made their names renowned throughout all the games they played, causing their reputation to soar as time passed.
With that, it went without saying that the Five Leviathans were considered infallible by the time Greater Beyond came around, with many thinking that they'd lead the direction of the game as always.
"Though they were still able to keep their reputation as the Five Leviathans, the massive scope of Greater Beyond meant that they weren't able to claim everything for themselves."
"If anything, Greater Beyond only caused other organizations to reach the same level as them, with some even exceeding their strength and reputation near the end."
At those words, Valyr could only let out a faint sigh, thinking back to his time in the final battle.
Considering that the final battle had something to do with Greater Beyond, it went without saying that the Five Leviathans were involved in the massive fight as well.
However, rather than aid Valyr's side in making sure Earth would be able to avoid its untimely fate, the Five Leviathans instead chose to support the opposing side, becoming one of the major reasons why their side ultimately lost. Nôv(el)B\\jnn
"Well, it's only right to change that now that I'm in this position," said Valyr to himself, swiftly discarding all of the thoughts that continued lingering in his mind. "Then again, there's only so much I can do with the power that I have."
"Haah…" Letting out a sigh once more, Valyr soon noticed that more and more players were now beginning to head towards the shop after the two paid a visit.
Feeling like he'd be busy for the remainder of the busy, the young man decided to shelve his thoughts for the meantime, shrugging his shoulders as he let out a slight chuckle. "Well, you know what they say." "Little by little."
…
"Moonlight and Avaris took longer than I thought." As both Belial and Tianshen made their way back to where they spawned, the two began to talk about what they saw in the shop they just entered.
"Don't forget the greater time dilation ratio," said Belial in response to Tianshen's words. "They only entered the game 5 minutes after we did… which is like around 40 minutes here."
"40 minutes… yeah, I think we spent around that much time in the shop." Tianshen went silent for a bit before nodding. "I'm guessing we'll also take them to the shop as well?"
"Yeah," replied Belial as he nodded. "But only after we head to the wilderness to get XP and money first. Our first goal is to enter the nearest dungeon as soon as possible, after all."
"In any case, I didn't know we could add NPCs to our friend lists."
"Neither did I." Tianshen let out a chuckle, bringing up his near-barren friend list to the side. "The other three might have probably known about it during the closed beta, but I sure as hell didn't." Shifting his gaze towards his friend list, the man took note of the level of the person managing the shop they entered. "Level 75… quite a high level for someone in a village."
"Who knows? Maybe that's actually the average level a person in a village would have and we just didn't know?" joked Belial, prompting both of them to laugh for a bit as they looked around for their companions.
"Anyways, let's save that for later."
"For now, let's focus on grinding."
