Captain Steve Rogers is walking towards his apartment door when a young blonde woman comes out of her own apartment, bringing her laundry to be washed downstairs.
Steve just nodded at her and greeted her. "Hi."
"Oh hello." the woman smiled. "I'm just… going downstairs."
"You know, you can use my washing machine instead, it'll be cheaper." Offered Steve.
"Oh?" the woman smiled. "And what's the cost?"
"Just a cup of coffee." Steve smoothly said.
The woman just chuckled. "I… already have some of my laundry downstairs, so maybe next time."
Steve could only smile at the soft rejection. "Well that's a shame."
"Yeah… oh, you left your stereo on.' the woman pointed out as she walked towards the stairs. "Might want to check that out."
Steve frowned. "Oh really? Thanks… for the warning."
The woman then climbed down the stairs as Steve stood in front of his apartment door. He slowly unlocked the door and opened it quietly. As he went inside, he slowly retrieved his trusty shield that is put beside the door and sneaked inside.
His Gramophone was playing, yet he didn't remember putting it on. He peaked from a side wall, towards his living room, only to see a man resting on his couch. He knew the man, it was Nick Fury, and his existence here could only make Steve sigh.
"I didn't remember giving you a key." Steve commented.
"Do you really think I need one?" Fury sighed as he sat up from the couch.
Steve could only shake his head. "What are you doing here?"
Steve quickly turned on the light, only to see that Fury was riddled with flesh wounds that made Steve's eyes widened.
"Are–"
Fury gestured to Steve to not say anything as Fury turned off the light beside him. "My wife kicked me away from home."
Fury wrote a sentence on his phone, and showed it to Steve. 'EARS EVERYWHERE'
"You had a wife?" Steve asked, looking at the sentence on the phone.
"Well, you don't know anything about me." said Fury, changing the sentence into something else. 'SHIELD COMPROMISED'
Steve frowned at the sight. "Who else knows?"
Fury stood, wrote on his phone again, and showed it to Steve. 'JUST YOU & ME'
"Just my friends." Fury spoke.
"Well, if you need anythin—"
Suddenly, the wall behind Fury was riddled with holes, penetrating towards Fury. the man groaned in pain as bullets lodged itself to Fury's back, and the man dropped to the ground, wailing.
Steve quickly moved, dragging the wounded Fury to cover. As Steve lay Fury against the wall, the african-american man grabbed Steve's hand and gave him a flashdrive. "Find… Unseen Ones…"
The man struggled to breathe, and eventually, passed out. Steve clenched his shield more, trying to find the perpetrator. He could see it, just past the window, a man in black, aiming a sniper at him. He could not run towards him; however, he was stuck.
Suddenly, his apartment door was forcefully opened, and a woman entered the room. "Captain? I'm Agent 13, I was tasked to keep you safe."
"Kate?" Steve said the woman's name, but no answer came. "By whose order?"
'Kate' saw Fury lying unconscious on the floor and sighed. "Him."
'Kate' quickly walked towards the man, checking up on his condition. She was about to call for backup, only to feel that the communication device was taken away from her, making her alert.
She could see the communication device was impaled to the wall, destroyed. She looked around, pointing her pistol everywhere to check who did it.
"What's that?" Steve said, raising his shield.
"Stay alert captain. I have a spare gun on my waist, you can take it." said 'Kate'.
Steve looked at 'Kate' for a second, and took the pistol from her waist, quickly in alert. As 'Kate' was about to turn around, she heard a 'poof' sound from the corner of the room, and she could feel a prick at her neck, and the next thing she knew, she was knocked out on the ground.
"Kate— Agent 13?" Steve quickly tried to wake her up, but then, he could feel a sharp feeling on his neck.
"Captain, don't make this harder on us." said the voice, his accent seemed african-american.
"Who are you?" Steve said, raising his hands.
"An ally." the man answered. "Let me heal the director first, if you decide to engage, let me just say that no one will benefit from the fight."
Steve could hardly believe this man, but with this compromising position, he could only nod. Steve didn't move whatsoever, he still knelt beside 'Kate's' body, and he saw an african american in strange gear, injecting a concoction to his blood.
Fury glowed orange, making Steve panicked, but the man with the strange gear quickly reassured him by making a gesture, for him to calm down.
Steve then could see Fury's body recover at an amazing rate, the bullet dislodged itself, and the blood no longer visible.
"Extremis?" Steve curiously asked. "I thought that's rare."
"For civilians. Not us." the man stated as he checked 'Kate's' body. Once nothing seemed unnatural, he stood up, also helping Steve stand up.
When they stood up, Fury coughed from behind them, seemingly waking up. "I see when you all ask for cooperation, you mean it." said Fury to the african-american man. "Even using Extremis on me."
"It's your mess, director." said the American-African man. "And we were caught up in it."
"I apologise for that." Fury said, standing up. "I didn't think that you-know-who is you-know-what."
"Let me tell you, director," said the man calmly. "At the end of this, the US will be humiliated. We will not take responsibility for any destruction or 'casualties' that will happen in this conflict."
"You have my word." Fury nodded weakly. He turned to Steve, and extended his hand. "Captain, I believe you have met them, so you should give the flashdrive to them."
"Who are you people?" Asked Rogers as he gave the flash drive to the african-american man.
The man smiled. "My name Isiaih Bradley, Captain. I'm from the Order of the Unseen Ones."
"Isaiah…" Steve frowned. "Do I know you?"
"You did." said Isaiah. "But let's keep it professional from now on. We're to bring you two to our HQ in the US. I hope you have a strong stomach, Captain."
Isaiah quickly took out a small device, and he pressed it. The three was then swallowed a bluish light, and disappeared from the place, leaving agent 13 alone.
