Chapter 234: Twilight Cocoon

Chapter 234: Twilight Cocoon

They went home and Elliot was still in a trance. It felt as though anything that was said and done after his small daydream was all a vague dream.

He was sitting on the roof again, watching the beautiful colors of the city. Ryan and Miranda left with a note saying they're safe. The others didn't want to pry into their business anymore, even when they wanted to.

The two decided to stay away from them, thinking they'll endanger the participants. In the note also states that the two will support them as much as they could in the background. This was enough to ease their minds, trusting the police officers.

His students were also present outside the arena, but he couldn't feel anyone around him.

Elliot was back in his memories. The time when he was still nothing, and the only thing he was holding on to was his promise to his mother.

"I will become the mightiest," Elliot whispered. He continued watching the blinking lights and listened to the bustling streets of Solaguer. It was a peaceful night for him even with the noise.

"You're here quite often." Lance sat beside him.

"I'm still in a trance, Lance," Elliot said. "I might be unresponsive from time to time."

"Okay," Lance whispered. "That's fine. I'm here to find peace anyway."

Elliot only hummed in response. He was too busy replayint all his memories in his head that he didn't feel his tears fall down his cheek like a gentle stream.

"What's wrong?" Lance asked.

"Nothing and everything," Elliot responded. "Nothing's wrong right now, but everything might be wrong later, or tomorrow, or next week. It's a surprise."

"Tell me what's wrong then," Lance said. "I'll listen."

"I'm just in a beautiful trance," Elliot chuckled. "That's all there is to it."

Lance pursed his lips and nodded a couple of times, "What kind of trance then?"

"The trance of the past," Elliot replied. "I'm seeing all the things that have happened before I met the guild."

"Oh," Lance smiled and looked at where Elliot was looking. "You know, in a way, we're both similar yet different. But I don't know. It may be just me."

"Somehow, yeah," Elliot chuckled. "Apart from the fact that I never got to meet my dad, and you still have yours. Our moms died when we were young."

"I also made a promise with my mother," Lance confessed. "I told her that I'll become a benevolent king. One that would rule her people with proper judgement and equality."

"But you renounced the throne though," Elliot said.

Lance turned to Elliot and pushed the latter's forhead with his finger. "That's why we're different, silly. I never get to keep my promise."

The prince returned his gaze to the city, "And I will never get to keep it."

Elliot frowned and looked at the city once more. "But you don't have to be a benevolent king. You can just become a great friend, and a good vice guild master."

"I'm trying," Lance chuckled. "I'm trying to protect the most important people in my heart."

"Let me guess," Elliot grinned. "Some girl from another city?"

"Yeah," Lance laughed lightly. "Actually, they're siblings. Three of them. One's beautifully blonde and the other two"

Their night was filled with teases and laughter. The two didn't even realize that time passed them by and the dawn slowly came to them. The sun slowly sat on the horizon, rising from its sleep ans blasting its light in all of its domain.

"It's already morning," Lance chuckled. "We've been here for hours, what the hell?"

Elliot stretched his arms and laughed, "I got out from my trance."

"I pulled you out, didn't I?" Lance wiggled his eyebrows. "I do this to my ladies."

"Who the hell?" Elliot laughed fully. His face formed wrinkled lines as he laughed, his lips were meeting both his ears. "I never get to see you with any girl."

"That's because the three sisters are in another city," Lance pursed his lips. "I don't bring them home because you might steal them."

"What the hell," Elliot shook his head. "Pathetic."

"My legs hurt," Ed groaned.

"My feet hurt," Connor grunted.

Hope was looking at them, "Pathetic. My whole body hurts."

Connor smacked the back of his head, "You have the most body pain and you have the audacity to call us "pathetic"?"

"Ouch," Hope rolled his eyes. "I thought we're bragging about who has the most body pain?"

Ed smacked Hope this time, "Why would we brag about that?"

Hope scoffed, "I don't know. You brag about lots of weird things."

Lance and Elliot entered the room. The others looked at them as they silently slid in the dining room and sit on the chair.

"Good morning you two," Ed said. "We were just talking about body pains. You got any?"

"My back," Midnight entered the room, holding his back and walking like an old man. "My back hurts."

Connor stood and made an arch with hid hands, "The sign of the times."

Midnight glared at him and scoffed. "I'm below thirty though."

Ed formed an arch with his hands this time, "Doesn't matter."

While the others continued teasing each other, Elliot scanned his Inventory. He already have three Twilight Brew and how he could use it was a big question.

"Excuse me for a moment," Elliot said and got up, walking up to his room and locking the door.

"Let's see," Elliot pursed his lips and planned to take the Twilight Cocoon out. Just when he was about to do so, he looked around to see where he could place it. "Can I just place this on a table?"

Elliot snapped his fingers and ran outside, walking around the streets to find a tree branch he could use. He had seen butterflies and cocoons before. He knows how it works.

He spotted a large tree with a branch that formed a Y shape. He then climbed up the tree and took it out, landing on both his feet.

"Perfect," he said, grinning as he proudly walk down the streets, carrying a stick that made the people around him stare. "Okay, maybe I shouldn't have swung it aimlessly."
