Chapter 2107 Enslavement
Chapter 2107 Enslavement
Among the newly arrived beasts were two Ancient Desolate Beasts.
The first was the [King Crystal Rhino], a massive creature with a body covered in glistening, diamond-like armor that refracted light into a dazzling array of colors. Its horn, sharp and crystalline, gleamed with an icy aura, capable of piercing through the toughest of defenses.
The second was the [White Lightning Tiger], a majestic and fearsome beast. Its muscular body was covered in fur that seemed to crackle with static electricity. Its eyes glowed a menacing blue, and lightning bolts danced around its claws and fangs.
Accompanying these ancient beasts were eight desolate beasts of the same type as the King Crystal Rhino and ten yellow lightning tigers, similar in appearance but not as grand. Their movements were fast and powerful, each step sending shudders through the ground.
The arrival of this formidable group quickly disrupted the ongoing battle.
Considering the strange behavior of the Roc group they were fighting, Ramos quickly deduced that all three beast groups were under the control of the approaching grand magus, who sat atop the gigantic White Lightning Tiger.
"Enslavement Path, Grand Magus!!" Ramos exclaimed, his voice tinged with astonishment.
Enslavement was one of the formidable spirit reading paths. This path did more than merely forcefully subdue a beast; it allowed the magus to exert influence over the creatures, enhancing their battle capabilities through spells and strategic commands. This ability to control and empower the beasts made the Enslavement Path particularly dangerous.
The fact that this grand magus had managed to subdue multiple ancient desolate-level beasts, as well as over two dozen desolate-level beasts, indicated he was most certainly a Spirit Master with exceptionally high soul power.
Ramos decisively orders the Kux faction magus to disengage from their battles. However, as soon as they attempted to pull back, the surviving Roc birds, all seven of them, unleashed their devastating killer moves. A piercing sonic attack emanated from their cries, creating waves of destructive sound that hit the Kux magus with full force, instantly stunning them.
"These damn birds!!" Ramos cursed, his voice filled with frustration.
Ramos, the only one unaffected by the sonic attack due to his superior resistance, dashed forward to save his men. But as he was about to reach them, the King Golden Roc, the largest and most powerful of the Roc birds, executed its own killer move. A massive wind torrent erupted from its wings, creating a vortex of violent air currents that engulfed the entire area.
The wind torrent was a formidable attack, not only restricting Ramos's movement but also significantly enhancing the agility and speed of the remaining Roc birds. The gusts of wind were so powerful that they formed visible barriers, making it difficult for anyone to navigate through them without being thrown off balance.
Ramos struggled against the fierce winds, his every step met resistance. The golden Rocs, now moving with heightened speed and coordination, began their assault on the stunned Kux magus.
Edgar and the formation experts quickly activated their life-saving and defensive skills to fend off the ferocious attacks. Despite their efforts, the other two juniors were less fortunate. One managed to dodge a lethal attack, but not without sustaining a severe injury. The other one was caught by the Roc's talons and pulled away, its fate sealed by the savage pack.
"NO!!!" Ramos screamed, his voice echoing with desperation as he watched the Roc birds tear up the poor magus.
In that dire moment, the space around them distorted, rippling with an otherworldly energy. A portal materialized, and through it stepped a figure wielding a sharp blade. With swift, precise strikes, he wounded the Rocs, forcing them to release the captured magus.
The figure was their half-blood adversary, Emery, who had arrived just in time to save the Kux magus from a gruesome death. His sudden appearance and decisive action stunned both allies and enemies alike.
Emery grabbed the unconscious magus and yelled, "This way!" He pointed towards the shimmering portal, offering an escape route from the chaotic wind torrent.
However, the sight of Emery saving his men only fueled Ramos's rage. With a ferocious shout, he unleashed the full extent of his domain power, casting a formidable tier 7 spell: [Tornado]. This was his most powerful wind element spell. The swirling vortex he conjured was immense, and its force was unmatched. It countered the wind torrent created by the King Golden Roc, pushing back the Golden Roc birds and scattering them.
The powerful winds howled as Ramos's tornado took control of the battlefield. The Roc birds, unable to withstand the ferocious gale, were forced to retreat, their coordinated assault was disrupted.
Despite Emery's crucial intervention, Ramos did not spare him a single word of gratitude. His eyes remained fixed on the approaching beast army, anger simmering beneath his calm fa?ade. The Golden Rocs, continued to circle them, their sharp eyes watching for any opportunity to strike.
As they braced for the next wave of threats, the grand magus leading the beast army made his presence known. He was an imposing figure, old and hunchbacked, with a long white beard that flowed down his chest. His aura was one of absolute dominance, and as he approached, his voice boomed across the battlefield.
"YOU DARE TO KILL MY BEAST? YOU SHALL PAY TENFOLD!" he shouted, his words reverberating through the air.
The sheer strength in his tone sent a shiver down the spines of the Kux magus. They could sense the wrath and authority in his tone. Ramos, realizing the gravity of the situation, quickly tried to placate him.
"Senior, it's a misunderstanding! We didn't know those were your beasts!" Ramos called out, his tone both respectful and urgent.
"Regardless, you have killed them. I demand remuneration!"
The tension in the air was palpable. The Kux magus exchanged nervous glances, their earlier confidence now replaced by apprehension. .
Emery turned to Ramos and said, "Don't bother; he comes with vicious intentions."
With those words, Emery revealed the old man's true identity, information he had obtained from VIA. The grand magus was Mo Yan, one of the infamous criminals in the magus universe. He had a notorious reputation for destroying multiple planets in his quest to perfect his mastery of the law of enslavement. He had been last seen 300 years ago and had only mysteriously resurfaced in this quadrant.
"Mo Yan… the hunchback slave master!" Ramos exclaimed, recognizing the truth in Emery's words. His expression shifted from anger to anxiety as the gravity of the situation became clear.
As the beast tide closed in, Emery quickly added, "I can only wait for backup. If you wish to work together...."
Before Emery could finish speaking, Ramos made a swift decision. He called out to his men, "We're leaving! Now!" With a fierce determination, he enveloped his group in a cloud of flames, using the intense heat and fire to break through the encircling Roc birds. The flames roared as they created a path of escape, and Ramos, along with his magus, flew away from the imminent danger.
The scene was chaotic. The Rocs screeched in fury, their golden feathers glinting menacingly, as they tried to close in on the escaping magus. The wind whipped through the air, carrying the scent of smoke and charred feathers.
Emery could only shake his head as he watched Ramos and his group flee. Ramos might escape with his strength, but Emery was pessimistic about the chances of the other magus remaining the pursuit of the flying beasts, especially them being wounded.
Despite his efforts to convince the Kux faction to cooperate, he knew that working with them might lead to other trouble. Perhaps they were safer without them. With a slight gesture, Emery blinked himself back to the formation.
Upon his return, panic was evident among his allies. Magus Yord's tone rang out, filled with fear, "What are we going to do?! Why are those Kux Magus leaving?! How are we going to survive this?!"
The situation was tense, everyone on edge as the beast tide approached. Emery considered his options. With his spatial gate, he actually had the means to escape the disaster. The grand magus might be able to follow, but without the hordes of beasts, his threat would be significantly minimized.
However, leaving his senior behind was not an option.
Emery glanced at Magus Heorgar, whose expression was pale and strained as he neared the final stage of his tribulation. The air around Heorgar crackled with intense magical energy, a testament to the life-altering challenge he was facing.
Understanding the gravity of the situation and knowing that Heorgar could sense and comprehend the dire circumstances they were in, Emery spoke with firm resolve.
"Don't worry, Senior. I will stay and protect you. You need to focus on your ascension. Only with your success can we survive! ...Did you hear me? If you want to help, you must succeed in your breakthrough!"
