My review after 10 chapters: its a Chinese police procedural with a system. The translation starts out especially rough, but is mostly fine after the first chapter or two. The plot is what you'd expect from something like Law and Order or CSI with more focus on the MC cause the system makes him unusually competent. In terms of realism its not too bad so far. Obviously cases progress faster due to the MC's system given competence and less actual paperwork is done for pacing, but overall nothing too unreasonable has occurred. Obviously I haven't read enough to know if this veers more toward slice of life/ episodic storytelling or if there is some overarching plot, but overall if you want a readable "The Wire" but with less swearing and kinda janky this novel might be a decent fit for you. Synopsis synop once again explains almost nothing about the actual novel This is mostly from a poor translation (which plagues this book). He is a newly minted officer and receives a police badge that was created in the future (it traveled though dimensions and wound up in his possesion). The hook is Spoilerthat the badge is able to impart police skills and knowledge into the wearer. He uses said knowledge to solve crime cases. It's not a complicated book and is mostly like a life walkthrough of his cases. This is a system novel? Since it has the system administrator tag. The badge mentioned in the synopsis works much like a system. Ok thanks, still don’t understand why people just dislike questions instead of answering them. I haven't a clue, it was a reasonable question...
