Demon Lord Management Sim Game

Chapter 129 129 – A Best Friend

Velvet pulled the shapeshifter's body, which was now in humanoid form with no face, no hair, pale blue in color, and full of wounds. The prophet stopped in front of the council room door and made eye contact with some of the guards.

The guards looked tense, and Velvet didn't need to say anything. They finally made way for the prophet. One of them even went so far as to unlock the door.

"No one enters before I give the order." She gave the order, then entered the room, still dragging the shapeshifter's corpse. The councilors, who numbered nearly forty of them, gasped from where they were, a place that was like a circular tribune with a position higher than Velvet.

They didn't even think of running away, even though they heard that a demon had infiltrated this place. Yes, the guards here are trained and strong. The council room's door was also made of Mythril enchanted with magic.

But still, the one who entered this building was a demon. No one can predict how the creature will behave.

Velvet was thinking, did this happen because she was there? The council members, prime minister, and officials feel very safe with the prophet.

"You can't bring something like that to this place, Miss prophet!" One female councilor protested. "This is a holy place for us to run this country!"

Most of the other councilors voiced their approval of the woman, and only a few remained silent. Some of them even called the guards who were outside to come in and take the body away.

Then, a woman at the very end, sitting on an oversized wooden chair, raised her hand. The councilors immediately fell silent.

"Maybe we should give her a chance to talk." The woman with a smooth face but gray hair said. She still looked to be in her early thirties. "What do you all think?"

The woman looked at her ministers, who were on her both sides. They all nodded in turn.

Then, she smiled at the prophet. "All right, miss. We'll give you time to talk."

"Thank you, madam prime minister. And please forgive my rude behavior." Velvet bowed, then looked around. "There are demons that have infiltrated our neighboring country. I'm not sure the representatives brought him here on purpose. They don't even know…."

"How can you be so sure that they brought a demon here by accident!?" One council member with a small body and wearing a monocle cut off Velvet's words.

"I agree with you, sir Gerald!" One of the other councilors responded. "They can't be trusted!"

Those councilors' voices erupted again, and the prime minister tried to calm the people down a second time.

Velvet tried to keep her expression straight. She knows this thing will get nowhere. Her speech will continue to be interrupted, and she will not be able to convey her intent properly.

However, she already had something that had a significant impact on their minds. This corpse.

"Hey, where are those soldiers!?" One of them snapped. "Take this disgusting demon's body from here!!! This is a holy place that must be sterile from things like this!!!"

"I will still go no matter what!" Velvet's words forced the councilors into silence. "I will fight any obstacle you all will put up! You just have to choose, support me with supplies and other things, or let me go alone with a smaller chance of survival!"

Those government officials were indeed silent, but it was only temporary. They protested again, and now louder, but Velvet didn't respond. She chose to turn around and leave the shapeshifter's corpse behind.

"Where are you going, Miss Velvet!?" The prime minister started to panic. "We can still talk about this! Please, don't go!"

Velvet stopped and took a deep breath. "This is the order of god himself! I have to go to Durcia to fight the demons there! The appearance of this vile creature here is a sign that I must do something! Anyone who stands in my way will be dealt with!"

Instantly, the room became quiet again. Without a visual of the demon corpse, they definitely wouldn't be swayed by Velvet's firm words.

"I'm waiting for your decision, ladies and gentlemen. I hope we can come to a good agreement."

The prophet then left the room at a brisk pace. Once outside, she spoke to the guards. "Take the corpse to the investigation department, please."

Several of the guards entered the room, and Velvet continued on. Candice caught up with her best friend.

"I've sent men to hide your mother in a safe place." The mage whispered.

Velvet frowned. "Why do you do that?"

"Today is the time when you finally fight them. And you fight them with a bang!" The prophet's friend chuckled. "It's just a precaution, though I'm not sure they dare get on your bad side."

"Thank you, Candice." The prophet gave the mage a faint smile. "Hopefully, nothing happens, and they finally come to their senses and send me to Durcia."

"I'm sure they agree. You have shown something that has made them crazy." Candice chuckled.

"Yeah, or I'll go to Durcia myself. I don't care what will happen. I'll still go."

"You mean it, don't you?" A long sigh escaped from the mage's mouth. "Well, I guess I can't stop you. But one thing is clear, I will still follow you, Vel. You are hopeless. I have to take care of you always."

The prophet smiled again at her friend. "Thanks again. I know I can depend on you."

Candice quickened her pace and shrugged. "Well, you are annoying sometimes, but you are still my best friend."

Velvet widened her smile. She felt that everything would be fine if Candice was by her side. They often fought, but in the end, the mage was the biggest mental support for the prophet besides her mother.

"Well, maybe you want to rest a bit? You're done fighting. And, of course, you have to relax your mind after that show." Candice added. "Maybe a warm bath and tea will help. I'll get everything ready. I think their meeting will take a long time."

"Yeah, that's a great idea, Candice."
