Chapter 5: The good that Lord Xie Yong has done for his child!
Then City Lord Xie Yong turned towards the door where a person was standing.
"Doctor Zhang, do come in." He said.
"En." As the owner of the manor had permitted him, Doctor Zhang didn't hesitate before entering Xie Yang's room.
"Young Lord Xie Yang, Lady Hua, I've seen you."
After entering the room, Doctor Zhang cupped his hand and greeted the handsome husband and his beautiful wife.
Doctor Zhang was 60 years old and a low-level cultivator. As he was one of the best doctors in this city, he had been treating Lord Xie Yang for the longest of time, almost for the entirety of his eighteen years of life.
"Father, why did you come here with Doctor Zhang?" Xie Yang asked.
"Doctor Zhang is here to take your pulse Xie Yang and see if you've really recovered or not." City Lord Xie Yong answered.
Xie Yang had no trouble letting Doctor Zhang check him, and he told them to please make themselves comfortable.
City Lord Xie Yong and Doctor Zhang sat opposite them.
"May I check your pulse?" Doctor Zhang asked him.
"Please." Xie Yang said as he extended his hand towards him.
Doctor Zhang grabbed his wrist and placed his fingers three inches beneath the edge of his palm. He was an expert and could determine a person's condition by merely feeling their pulse. So, it didn't take long for him to determine what was wrong with Lord Xie Yang and what was right.
"City Lord Xie Yong, your son's pulse is a hundred times better than before. If previously he was like the setting sun, then now he is like the blinding sun! It's a miracle!"
Everyone understood what he meant!
Lord Xie Yang was getting better, and his father and wife didn't need to worry about him dying any longer.
"Dear Moon God, thank you for blessing my husband." Lin Hua muttered, but Lord Xie Yang heard her clearly. He knew about Moon God. She was a spirit fox who loved to help lovers in deep trouble. Uniting long-lost lovers, saving them, and putting them together was one of her many good deeds, and hence she had many followers. Moon God was his disciple.
He was surprised to hear that the foxy and naughty child ten thousand years ago had ascended to the spirit realm from the mortal realm and become a god who even his wife worshiped.
"Thank you, Doctor Zhang, for your services." Said City Lord Yong.
"No, no, City Lord Xie Yong, you praise me too much. I am just doing my job." Said Doctor Zhang.
"Is there something my son should be mindful of doing?" City Lord asked while winking at his old friend, Zhang.
"Ahem, ahem!" Doctor Zhang coughed turned to Lord Xie Yang and his wife with a severe look and said, "Lord Xie Yang is still on the path to recovery. His body is still weak, and his yang is not much. It would be best if Lord Xie Yang doesn't engage in excessive love-making activities for a while and eat as much nourishing food as he can for three months."
"No way." How could he let that happen?! He still hasn't consummated his marriage with his wife, ah!
"We will follow Doctor Zhang's advice word to word!" Lin Hua said more louder than Lord Xie Yang.
After a while, Doctor Zhang left. City Lord Yong told Lin Hua not to let his son do as he pleases and keep him in check. If necessary, she could even use force. Lin Hua agreed with a smile, and Lord Xie Yang showed a defeated expression.
Then, City Lord Yong caressed his son's face, told him to get better soon, and told him and Lin Hua to directly look for him if they needed anything before walking away. He was a busy man, but for his son, he was willing to put a stop to his work.
While looking at his father's broad back, Lord Xie Yang felt sentimental. He knew everything his father had done to keep him away from the vicious clutches of death.
Although he remembered his previous life after awakening, he still had all the memories and emotions of this life.
Xie Yang knew every good thing his current father had done for him.
Four years ago, he had given up on himself, and because of the pain that made him feel as if death would be better than living like a disabled person, he wanted to commit suicide.
At night, when everyone was asleep, he crawled out of his room and jumped into the cold winter pond to end his life.
It was his father who pulled him out immediately.
After helping him change his clothes and using a cultivation technique to warm his body, his father cried and didn't even scold him.
He only left his side after he promised that he wouldn't go for his life anymore.
It was that day when he realized that his condition kept his father awake, that his father would be sitting outside the rooftop and worrying for him until the sun came up.
Lord Xie Yang felt that if he didn't do something for him right away, he would regret it.
"I will be back soon." He said to Lin Hua.
"I will wait for you to come so that we can continue eating." Lin Hua said. She was the kind of person that followed her teaching more than her desire. She had no intention of eating without her husband.
"I will not let you wait for long," he said and left her side.
Lord Xie Yang chased after his father and left the courtyard.
"Thank you, father!
"Thank you for not giving up on me!
"Thank you for trying to find a way to keep me alive!
"Thank you for trusting that I would get better!
"Thank you for fighting for my life when I had given up on myself!
"Thank you for everything you've done for me in the past eighteen years."
City Lord Xie Yong heard the words of his son and stopped. He turned around and smiled at Lord Xie Yang.
"No need to thank me for doing my duty as a father."
His words set off a wave of emotions in the heart of the king of spirit.
